MUL: Montanuniversitaet Leoben, Austria Montanuniversitaet Leoben has its origins in 1840, founded as the “Styrian Corporate School of Mining”. Current fields of studies include Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Plastic Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Geosciences, Industrial Environmental Protection and Industrial Logistics. Competences have developed along the value chain. Established in 2003, the Chair of Industrial Logistics at the Montanuniversitaet of Leoben (MUL) integrates engineering education and education in logistics management with a high degree of practical experience. It has developed a unique profile in education and training, as well as in industry and research projects. The study of Industrial Logistics at MUL combines a technical with an economic focus on logistics to form this special study profile. The Master program in Industrial Logistics provides an education which enables graduates to cover a broad range of applications within their job portfolios. Moreover, four specializations are offered within the Master program: Logistics Management, Logistics System Engineering, Computational Optimization and Automation.
Key people: • Prof. Helmut Zsifkovits (Full Professor and Head of Chair of Industrial Logistics). Member of the Board, European Certification Board of Logistics of the European Logistics Association (ELA). The focus of research work is on Process Optimization, Production Logistics, Information Systems and Complexity Management. • Dr. Manuel Woschank (PostDoc for Industrial Logistics), is a lecturer and researcher at the Chair of Industrial Logistics. His research focus is on Logistics Systems Engineering, Logistics Process Optimization and Behavioral Decision Making Theory.
