Bangkok November 21, 2019: The members of the UNIBZ team Luca Gualtieri and Dr. Rafael Rojas meet the researchers and the director of the "Design and Engineering" unit, Dr. Nirut Naksuk, at the MTEC national research centre in Thailand (www.mtec.or.th). The unit is an important hub for local technology transfer, linking the world of research to the needs of industries. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the issues related to applied research in industrial robotics, discussing possible future collaborations.

On the 3^rd of September Benedikt Mark, a Ph.D. student at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano started his secondment at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Worcester, Massachusetts. Until the 31^st of October he worked together with Prof. Christopher A. Brown on Axiomatic Design (AD). Axiomatic Design is a methodology that was founded by Dr. Nam Pyo Suh at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). It consists of a systematical design approach to translate customer needs into functional requirements and design solutions. During his secondment he took part at the WPI Robotics Engineering 10-Year Anniversary Research Symposium with keynote talks by some of the most distinguished robotics researchers from Europe, US, and Asia, as well as representatives of robotics industry.
